Esta obra, en su primera edición, nació para dar satisfacción a la necesidad que como profesor sentía y aún sigo sintiendo, de plasmar la experiencia, ahora ya de casi cuarenta años de docencia de la Teoría de Circuitos, en la Universidad Politécnica de Madrid y actualmente como catedrático de Universidad en la Escuela Politécnica Superior de la Universidad de Alcalá.
Transcurridos unos años más, he podido comprobar la vigencia de los temas tratados y reafirmarme en el enfoque entonces planteado de la enseñanza del Análisis de Circuitos en las Escuelas de Ingeniería relacionadas con las tecnologías de la información, en particular con la Electrónica y las Comunicaciones.
El libro está dirigido a estudiantes de los primeros cursos de Ingeniería en las áreas de la Electrónica y de las Comunicaciones, los cuales acceden por primera vez al estudio riguroso de los circuitos eléctricos. Al final de cada capítulo se incluye un conjunto de problemas cuidadosamente elegidos cuya resolución facilita al lector la perfecta asimilación de los conceptos que se desean transmitir.
En esta edición han participado los profesores Maldonado Bascón y Rosa Zurera, catedráticos de la Escuela Universitaria de la Universidad de Alcalá, aportando nuevos ejercicios y colaborando en la revisión de contenidos.
